Last night mummy started baking the bottom layer. It was a 12" steam fruits cake ......mixed the ingredients after dinner, started to steam it at about half past 9. Half way through steaming process, the gas supply suddently went off ...... it's about time though, should have notice the early signal. Gosssshhhh ...... it's already 11pm, what will happen to my cake now???? Need at least 3 hours of steaming to achieve good texture and dark colouring.
Lucky me one of the grocery shop was still open at that hour. The worker doesn't mind sending over a bottle of cooking gas, even though it's almost midnight and he's about to close the business for the day. TQ bro ..... appreciated it, anyway we are your regular !!!!
Continued the steaming process till 1pm ...... and this morning woke up at 5am ????
Tonight another batch of smaller cake for the top layer to be bake ..... and so on for the next day !!!

Looks like the fruits mix sank quite a lot at the bottom of the cake. It could be caused by the distruption and delay during the steaming process. It's ok then .... as long as the cake texture is alright, betul tak ?
Still have yet to made up my mind on the cake decorating theme, prefer a modern contemporary but Nek Gayah will surely want to stick to the traditional tier.
